How to fix it.
Once mounted the TV slipped down and tilted. The plastic and metal parts did not provide enough friction to support the TV, no matter how much we tightened it. This was solved by inserting large fitted rubber washers into the 2 joints. Now it works fine.
Installs easy, works great
Was able to install by myself in under 45 minutes (need a stud finder, though). Product works great with a 26" LCD TV.

This is the exact item I first purchased at the store for more than I found on Amazon. It is perfect for my TV. We had no problems. It was easy to attach to the wall (stud needed). Exactly what I needed
Product works great. Easy to install. I am using it for a 24" TV that is mounted on a cinder block wall. Directions were easy to follow and product looks great on wall. I can adjust mount to turn TV at 90 degree angle with no problems. The cavity built into the swinging arm to hold all the wiring is a nice extra and hides all the cords. Would definitely recommend this product.
Flat Screen TV Mount
The flat screen mounts by Sanus are excellent in every respect. It is not designed make sounds and is quite permanent when assembled. If there was a need to move it to another location or different TV that would be no problem. Most of all it is strong and ridgid and holds the TV quite securely plus it has enough mobility to allow repositioning of the TV for different viewing angles and allows the TV to be stored for travel. I used it to mount the TV in my RV (5th wheel trailer). I would recommend this product to anyone needing to wall mount a flat screen TV.
